Otis India has announced GeN2 SWITCH� elevator system which operates with single phase 230 volts supply than 400 volts 3 phase. In power failures, the battery pack continues to operate the elevator to a 100 trips. It is compatible with alternative energy sources like solar panels that makes it truly sustainable. The system has OTIS´ patented flat polyurethane-coated steel belts, which are 20 per cent lighter and last three times longer than the conventional steel ropes.
