Bharat Coking Coal Seeks Bids for 2 MW Rooftop Solar Projects

Bharat Coking Coal (BCCL) has issued an invitation for bids for the design, engineering, supply, installation, and net metering of 2 MW grid-connected rooftop solar systems across various buildings. The selected bidder will also be responsible for managing the operations and maintenance of the project for a duration of five years.

The deadline for submitting bids is January 23, 2025, with the bids scheduled to be opened on January 24, 2025. Bidders are required to submit an earnest money deposit amounting to Rs 1.34 million. The total estimated project cost, inclusive of GST, is Rs 107.89 million.

The completion timeline for the project is set at 105 days. The scope of work includes coordinating with BCCL, distribution companies, and the Chief Electrical Inspector to ensure the evacuation of generated power to the nearest substation at an appropriate voltage. Bidders must also provide a Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system for remote monitoring and control of plant facilities, along with communication cables.

Additionally, eligible bidders must maintain an adequate inventory of spare parts to enable repairs within 48 hours of a system breakdown. The estimated capacity of each site may vary depending on local conditions.

The definition of similar work includes the supply, installation, commissioning, testing, and comprehensive maintenance of grid-connected rooftop solar systems. Furthermore, bidders must demonstrate an average annual financial turnover of at least 30 per cent of the estimated project cost over the past three years.

In December 2024, BCCL had also invited bids for the design, engineering, supply, erection, testing, and commissioning of a cumulative 1.882 MW of rooftop solar systems under a net metering arrangement at Belgaria Township in Jharkhand.
