A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the development of City Gas Distribution (CGD) networks to supply dependable, affordable, and environmentally friendly natural gas across fifteen districts of Karnataka was signed by the government of Karnataka and AG&P Pratham, a major player in the Indian City Gas Distribution (CGD) industry. The MoU was signed during the Global Investors Meet 2022, which took place from November 2鈥�4 in Bangalore. To build CGD networks in the districts of Kolar, Mysuru, Mandya, Chamrajnagar, Hassan, Chikkamagaluru, Kodagu, Bagalkot, Koppal, Raichur, Kalaburagi, Vijayapura, Shivamogga, Uttara Kannada, and Haveri, AG&P Pratham will invest IN 80 billion over the next eight years. More than 55% of the state's geographic area and 42% of its population are located in the area being developed by AG&P. In order to provide natural gas to 5 million households as well as various industries and commercial establishments, AG&P plans to construct 1000 km of steel pipelines and 5000 km of MDPE pipelines over the course of the next 8 years. To serve the transportation industry, it also intends to build 600 Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) stations and 600 Liquified Natural Gas stations. The Government of Karnataka is committed to offering support to a long-awaited CGD infrastructure, which will deliver an uninterrupted supply of piped natural gas to homes, businesses, and industries, as well as CNG/LNG stations. In the state, AG&P Pratham has already opened 60 CNG/LNG stations, and more are in various stages of construction. In addition, the company built 200 km of steel pipeline and began offering household and industrial connections in Mysore city. As part of AG&P Pratham's ongoing efforts to develop an eco-friendly ecosystem, they are encouraging the use of CNG because it has several advantages over conventional fuels like diesel and gasoline. CNG has the best safety record and offers drivers of vehicles strong financial advantages. Natural gas assists the nation in moving toward responsible growth and energy security by reducing the amount of air pollution produced by vehicles and industries. About AG&P Osaka Gas, Japanese Overseas Investment Corporation, and AG&P Global are among the notable shareholders of AG&P Pratham, a company that is 100 percent foreign direct investment. It has been given permission to build CGD networks in 12 Geographical Areas that encompass 35 districts and 64 million people in the states of Rajasthan, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, and Kerala, which make up 8% of India. In these 35 districts, AG&P Pratham is building and managing CNG fueling stations for automobiles as well as piping natural gas to residential and commercial buildings. With more than 1,500 CNG stations and more than 17,000 inch-km of steel pipelines, AG&P Pratham's India-wide CGD network will cover an area of more than 278,000 square kilometres. CNG Stations are currently being run by AG&P Pratham in the following Andhra Pradesh districts: Anantapur, Kadapa, Chittoor, Sri Sathya Sai, Sri Balaji, Annamayya and Nellore Districts; Karnataka: Kolar, Mysuru, Mandya, Chamrajnagar, Hassan, Chikkamagaluru, Kodagu, Bagalkot, Koppal, Raichur, Kalaburagi, Vijayapura, Shivamogga, Uttara Kannada and Haveri; Tamil Nadu: Kanchipuram, Chengalpet, South East Chennai, Vellore, Ranipet, Tirupattur and Ramanathapuram; Kerala: Alappuzha, Kollam, and Thiruvananthapuram; Rajasthan: Jodhpur, Jaisalmer and Barmer.
