Karnataka power eyes upgrade

Power utilities in Karnataka, which procure equipment worth Rs 3,000-3500 crore, plan to upgrade their operations. Power utilities such as KPC, KPTCL and power distribution companies such as Bescom, Hescom, Gescom, Chescom and Mescom are looking at newer ways to upgrade generation, transmission and maintenance. The Energy Department in the State is also exploring additional power generation in solar, wind and other forms of renewable energy.
