Copeland Scroll compressors for 2 tonne split air conditioners will enable higher energy efficiency ratings and a lower lifetime cost of ownership.Emerson Climate Technologies (India) Ltd introduced scroll technology for the residential air-conditioning market in India at ACREX 2012 in Bengaluru. The Copeland Scroll compressors play an important role in improving the energy efficiency and reliability of air-conditioning systems. Emerson has designed these India-specific compressors with upto 2 tonne capacity for split air-conditioning units. They are being used in the production of air conditioners (AC) by some major OEMs in India, such as Blue Star, Carrier, Hitachi and LG.  For the first time, this technology is available for residential and small office markets, giving Indian users access to compressors that not only save energy but also provide enhanced comfort and value with their low noise output and compact design.Energy savingsThe Copeland Scroll compressors powering three, four, and five-star air conditioners offer energy savings of over 20 per cent compared to typical compressors. Copeland Scroll powered five-star ACs are valuable for commercial 2 tonne AC users whose electricity tariff is almost double that of residential users. And, the energy efficiency is expected to be maintained till 2014 when star-labeling standards are expected to increased.Improved efficiencyCopeland Scroll compressors have been installed in more than 80 million locations globally.
