Godrej Wins 2 MWp Solar Project for FMCG Plant in Assam

Energy Solutions, a business of the Godrej Enterprises Group, has secured a 2 MWp solar EPC contract for a leading FMCG facility in Guwahati, Assam. This marks Godrej’s first major solar EPC project in the FMCG sector and aligns with India's goal of achieving 500 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2030.
The plant is expected to generate 2.4 million kWh of clean energy annually, with lifetime generation pegged at 57,000 MWh. The facility will save an estimated Rs 1.4 crore annually on energy costs, while reducing carbon emissions by about 98.4 tonnes each year.
""This solar installation represents a milestone in our renewable energy portfolio,"" said Raghavendra Mirji, EVP & Business Head, Energy Solutions. “Godrej is committed to advancing India’s energy transition by providing scalable, efficient solar solutions across sectors.
The project supports Assam’s renewable energy target of 2,000 MW by 2025. Godrej has also commissioned a 12.5 MWp rooftop solar project in Madhya Pradesh and a 25 MW ground-mounted plant in Maharashtra, reinforcing its leadership in clean energy.
