POWERGRID Invites 7 MW Rooftop Solar Systems Bids Under PM Surya Ghar

Power Grid Corporation of India has issued bulk contract tenders for the supply and installation of 7 MW rooftop solar systems on its buildings in northern and western regions under the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana.
The northern region will have a 4 MW capacity, covering Uttarakhand, Chandigarh, Delhi, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, and Haryana, with a bid submission deadline of March 3, 2025. The western region will host 3 MW across Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Dadra and Nagar Haveli, Daman and Diu, Maharashtra, Goa, and Chhattisgarh, with bids due by March 4, 2025.
The bid security for each region is Rs 1 million. Exempt bidders must provide 2% of the total contract price as performance security within 28 days of the award. Others will have their bid security converted into performance security.
The project scope includes supplying, installing, and commissioning grid-connected rooftop solar systems with net metering or reverse power flow control, as per state regulations. Installations must be completed within six months of the work order. Successful bidders will also handle five years of comprehensive maintenance.
Eligible bidders must have commissioned at least 300 kW of grid-connected solar projects in the last three years or be listed solar module manufacturers. Solar module distributors and dealers with at least 1 MW of supply experience can also participate. Financial criteria include a minimum average turnover of Rs 60 million in the best three of the last five years, liquid assets or credit access of Rs 10 million, and a positive net worth for the last three years.
Recently, POWERGRID also invited bids for a 1.07 MW rooftop solar project at the National Institute of Technology Durgapur in West Bengal.
