Solar PV module manufacturer Saatvik Green Energy has joined hands with Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Co. Ltd. (MSEDCL) to supply solar-powered submersible pumps across 250 sites in Maharashtra. These pumps, with capacities between 3HP and 7.5HP, are designed to support irrigation, drinking water, livestock, and pond management in areas with limited electricity access.
The solar pumps are built with durable stainless steel and feature high-efficiency motors and controllers, all certified by NABL-accredited labs to ensure quality. By operating solely on solar power, they aim to offer uninterrupted irrigation, reducing farmers鈥 reliance on diesel and grid electricity.
Saatvik CEO Prashant Mathur expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, stating, 鈥淪aatvik is pleased to collaborate with MSEDCL to advance Maharashtra鈥檚 solar agenda. We aim to empower farmers with sustainable irrigation solutions.鈥
Saatvik has a strong presence in Maharashtra, supplying solar PV modules to major developers and government entities, including Megha Engineering, Mahagenco, Oswal Pumps, and BHEL. Recently, the company secured a Rs 3.02 billion contract with Maharashtra State Power Generation Company Limited (MAHAGENCO) to supply 200 MW of its N-TOPCon 580Wp modules.
With Maharashtra targeting 17.4 GW of solar capacity by 2025, the state is focused on expanding solar initiatives, including agricultural programs like PM-KUSUM and the Surya Scheme, which have been beneficial in drought-prone regions, easing pressure on the power grid and providing reliable water access for farmers.
