Schneider Electric to Establish New Manufacturing Plant in Tamil Nadu

Schneider Electric, a global leader in energy management and automation, has announced plans to establish a new advanced manufacturing facility in Hosur, Tamil Nadu. The 500,000-square-foot plant, situated at Horizon Industrial Park near Shoolagiri along the Bangalore鈥揅hennai highway, will support the company鈥檚 IT Business division by focusing on the production of Battery Management Systems (BMS), including Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) systems, Power Distribution Units (PDU), and cooling solutions.

The project will be carried out in two phases in partnership with Horizon Industrial Parks, a logistics infrastructure platform backed by Blackstone Real Estate funds. The first phase will deliver a dust-free facility equipped with expanded power capacity, advanced fire safety systems, and workspace for approximately 1,500 employees. The second phase, customized to Schneider Electric鈥檚 operational requirements, is expected to be completed within seven months.

The facility will feature several eco-friendly elements, such as IGBC 鈥楶latinum鈥 pre-certification, rooftop solar panels, glass wool insulation, skylights, smart light sensors, and electric vehicle charging stations.

This new plant marks Schneider Electric鈥檚 continued expansion in India鈥檚 rapidly growing industrial and electronics sectors and reflects the company鈥檚 strategy to deepen its manufacturing presence in the country. The collaboration with Horizon Industrial Parks emphasizes a commitment to sustainable manufacturing and operational excellence.
