THDC India, a prominent player in the renewable energy sector, has opened bids for consultants to craft a comprehensive detailed project report (DPR) aimed at developing a robust 1,292 MW Phase-I ultra mega solar power park nestled within a sprawling 2 GW solar park in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan.
The anticipated cost of the project stands at ?10.17 million (~$122,416), with consultants required to submit the DPR within 90 days upon receiving the work order. Interested parties must ensure their bids reach THDC India by February 20, 2024, with the bid opening scheduled for the subsequent day.
To partake in the bidding process, consultants are mandated to furnish an earnest money deposit of ?102,000 (~$1,227). Successful bidders, upon being awarded the contract, must promptly submit 5% of the contract value as a performance bank guarantee within 15 days post-issuance of the letter of award.
The project site is designated at Bodana Village, Nachana-I Tehsil, in Jaisalmer, spanning an extensive area of approximately 10,000 acres. The DPR specifications include a diverse array of assessments ranging from site engineering evaluations, soil testing reports, and solar radiation resource assessments to topography details, hydrology data, and environmental and social impact assessments, among other crucial elements.
Additionally, the selected consultant must furnish insights into the estimated solar power costs within the park, project execution timelines, and details regarding the availability of transmission capacity both intra-state and interstate up to the termination point.
Stringent provisions are in place to mitigate delays, with liquidated damages amounting to 0.5% of the total contract value per week of delay, capped at a maximum of 10% of the contract value.
This recent endeavor by THDC India aligns with its ongoing commitment to bolster India's renewable energy infrastructure. Notably, this invitation for bids follows a similar initiative last year when THDC India sought consultants to develop a 1 GW Phase-I ultra mega solar power park within the same expansive solar complex. Moreover, in July of the preceding year, THDC India embarked on a quest to empanel consultants for land acquisition to facilitate the development of 2,000 MW ultra-renewable energy parks in Rajasthan, as part of the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy's Solar Park Program.
The solicitation for bids underscores THDC India's unwavering dedication to advancing sustainable energy solutions and fostering the nation's transition towards a greener future.
