Introduction:
Purvanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam Limited (PUVVNL) is an Indian state-owned power distribution company headquartered in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. It was incorporated in 2003 and is a wholly owned subsidiary of Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited (UPPCL). PUVVNL is responsible for the distribution of electricity in the eastern region of Uttar Pradesh, which includes the districts of Varanasi, Gorakhpur, Mirzapur, Prayagraj, Azamgarh, and Basti.

PUVVNL has a total installed capacity of 11,000 MW, of which 9,000 MW is thermal and 2,000 MW is renewable. The company serves over 10 million consumers in its service area.

In recent years, PUVVNL has made significant investments in improving its infrastructure and services. The company has installed over 1 million smart meters and is in the process of installing another 1 million meters.
