KVIC Disburses Rs 3 Billion in Subsidies via PMEGP
The Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) has disbursed Rs 3鈥痓illion in margin money subsidies to 11,480 service-sector beneficiaries across India under the Prime Minister鈥檚 Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP). This move follows the sanctioning of loan amounts totalling Rs 9.06 billion. Electric Vehicles Power Waste Collection in Indian Cities
Under the Swachh Bharat Mission鈥揢rban, major Indian cities are leading a shift towards electric vehicles (EVs) for waste collection, reducing emissions and operational costs while improving urban sanitation.In Guntur, Andhra Pradesh, over 200 electric autos have replaced diesel garbage trucks. These EVs cover the city's 159 square kilometres and help save more than 71,000 litres of diesel annually.
