Kindly walk us through the journey of Hi-Tech Pipes. Hi-Tech Pipes (HTPL), an NSE and BSE listed company was established in 1985. From 1988 to 2001, the company began manufacturing MS pipes at its Sikandrabad unit 1 where it manufactured cold rolled coils and strips. From 2001 to 2012, HTPL installed a hot-dipped galvanising facility, commenced production of highway crash barriers and began the production of hollow sections and solar mounting sections. From 2012 to 2016, the company began operations at Sanand in Gujarat to manufacture electric resistance welding (ERW) pipes and modernised the Sikandrabad unit’s cold rolling plant. In 2017-2018, HTPL commenced operations at Hindupur (Andhra Pradesh) to manufacture ERW pipes and began commercial operations to manufacture steel tubes and hollow sections at Sikandrabad unit 2 as well as in the Sanand, Gujarat, unit. HTPL received many accolades from 2018 to 2020, including the Secondary Steel Sector Award from the Ministry of Steel, Top Performer Award from SAIL and the Ispat Rachna Award from the Ministry of Steel, Government of India. From 2020 to 2024, operations began at Khopoli in Maharashtra. Please tell us about your manufacturing set-up and plant production capacity. With 750,000 metric tonnes installed capacity and six Pan-India plants, the company is a leading manufacturer and supplier of ERW pipes as well as other products. Further, the company is working on two more projects which will be completed by FY25, including a Brownfield expansion in Sanand Unit-2 and a Greenfield expansion in Sikandrabad, UP. Post these projects, our total installed capacity will be 1 million tonnes (MT) by the end of this fiscal year. Please mention the sectors where your products are used. We have an extensive range of products, including ERW steel pipes, hollow sections and tubes, cold rolled coils and strips, road crash barriers, solar mounting structures, GP/GC sheets, colour-coated coils and a variety of other galvanised products used across many sectors. To mention a few: Our ERW pipes are used for water supply, sewage and drainage systems, process piping, machinery and equipment. Our ERW pipes are extensively used in railway and metro rail. In the Green energy sector, solar tracker tubes are used for rooftop and ground- mounted solar panel installations. The Sanand facility is equipped to manufacture large diameter pipes and solar tracker tubes upto 170,000 tonnes per annum. What is your plan for a bright future of Hi-Tech Pipes? Our objective is to position Hi-Tech Pipes as a well-known brand and a company recognised for its ability and capacity to deliver. Our installed capacity in FY25 will be 1 million tonnes and in the second phase of expansion, we will double it to 2 MT by 2028. (Communication by the management of the company)
