The Wirtgen Group introduced two new universal class Vögele pavers: Super 1900 -3 G and Super 1900-3 P for India, which was celebrated with a launch event in the presence of over 200 esteemed customers at the company’s Pune facility. A tour of the company’s modern plant, technology presentations and the company’s most innovative machines showcased along with a live demonstration of the company’s paving technologies made it a very exciting event.ABB India has established a smart centre for electrician training in Faridabad, Haryana in partnership with the Electronics Sector Skills Council of India (ESSCI) in the presence of Sujeet Gusain, Location Industrial Relation Manager, Faridabad, ABB India, Saroj Apato, Vice-President, ESSCI, Rajeev Singh, AGM and Dr Abhilasha Gaur, CEO, ESSCI, etc. The initiative will select, train and provide job opportunities for candidates who will receive 540+ hours of training. ESSCI will facilitate job placements.The Indian data centre sector saw a significant uptick in IT capacity, adding about 71 MW across key micro-markets in the first half of 2024, reports Savills India. This addition has increased the total stock to 942 MW, marking a 21 percent growth from 778 MW recorded in the same period last year. Mumbai accounted for 54.9 percent of total capacity followed by Chennai, Bengaluru and Pune with 12.3 percent, 8.2 per cent and 7.2 percent. Srihari Srinivasan, Director and Lead Data Centre Services, Savills India spoke of strong demand for data centre capacity in India by the end of 2024 with an expected requirement of 400 MW across major cities. This growth is propelled by surging internet usage, advent of 5G and increasing adoption of AI and IoT.
