The airport will soon be widened enabling bigger aircrafts to land thus increasing the footfall of tourists and facilitating the locals as well. Besides, the airport will meet the required regulatory standards of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) and further enhance extra safety measures. He added that this airport plays a key role to boost tourism activities in Kullu and Lahaul as it draws a significant number of tourists to explore nature's splendour, richness of culture and traditions besides the religious sites.
