The current repair works on the Irang bridge at Taobam village along the Imphal-Jiribam Highway in Noney district would be completed and open to the public by July. On May 12, a Bailey bridge over the Irang River collapsed as the region's constant rainfall washed away its foundation, cutting off the state's second lifeline. NHIDCL, which has been working to restore the damaged bridge, previously stated that the repairs will be completed within a month. Vehicles travelling along the impacted roadway are currently diverting from Rengpang village via the old Kachar road, which passes via Khoupum valley and the Bishnupur district.
