The Public Works Department (PWD) in Delhi has submitted a proposal to the Unified Traffic and Transportation Infrastructure (Planning & Engineering) Centre (UTTIPEC) for the construction of a 4.8km elevated corridor between outer Delhi and Haryana. This project is part of a larger plan to address traffic congestion at various hotspots in the city. The proposed elevated corridor aims to alleviate traffic congestion on Najafgarh-Phirni Road, Kapashera Road, Dhansa Road, and Bahadurgarh Road. It envisions the construction of a one-carriageway road with seven ramps. The corridor will not only reduce travel time but also provide pedestrian crossings at three major intersections, namely Deen Bandhu Chotu Ram Chowk, Najafgarh-Kapashera intersection, and Najafgarh-Nangloi intersection. The plan also includes the construction of footpaths, bicycle lanes, green zones, and the relocation of certain streetlights and service lines.Contact: Public Works DepartmentWebsite: www.pwddelhi.gov.in
