External thermal insulation and composite systems introduced for construction sector in India

Berger Paints India and its 100 per cent subsidiary Bolix SA, Poland has brought the ETICS technology and its benefits in the Indian context for the construction industry.

Earlier this year NBCC India, a state-owned construction firm and Bolix, SA Poland, had signed a Memorandum of Business Exploration. It is a joint initiative to bring to India the external thermal insulation and composite systems (ETICS), a proven solution for improving energy performance of temperature controlled buildings.

Berger Paints & Bolix SA showcased the benefits of the ETICS technology and its applicability to the Indian conditions. It highlighted how European countries like Germany and Poland are the pioneers in this technology and explained the entire theory of ETICS and how it is used in over 15 countries in Europe leading to great benefits in reduction of energy consumption leading to lowering of green house gases and environmental pollution.

The introduction of ETICS technology would help air-conditioned buildings lower their energy consumption and reduce their carbon footprint, making them environmentally sustainable and resource efficient. This is also the need of the hour considering national initiatives like Smart cities and Swachh Bharat.

Berger Paints / Bolix SA and NBCC would be jointly implementing the ETICS technology at marquee sites on a test basis and then develop a business plan for rolling out this technology on an All India basis on a commercial space as quickly as possible.

In a recent conference, some of the latest innovations from the house of Berger in the decorative paint segment were showcased. Recent product innovations include Weathercoat Anti Dustt (dust repellent exterior coating), ÑDz©ÌåÓý¹ÙÍøÊ×Ò³ Sheild Water proof Putty and Flame Retardant paints. Berger’s R&D facility is truly Indian and adapts technologies tailored to the Indian climate and environmental conditions. Best efforts are taken to keep the environment factor in mind during the journey from product development to delivery at customer end in Berger’s own laboratories.

Speaking on this occasion, Kuldip Singh Dhingra, Chairman, Berger Paints, said, “We are glad to be a part of this venture. This is the stepping stone towards technological development in the paint, allied and real estate sector. We are look forward to experience the long term benefits of this joint initiative. ETICS technology is a robust and long-lasting energy performance solution, which is highly cost effective, safe for inhabitants living in insulated houses and hugely beneficial for the environment.
