In a major push to make North Mumbai slum-free, 149 families of the Jai Santoshi Maa Housing Society in Kandivali received keys to their new homes under the Slum Rehabilitation Authority (SRA) scheme. The homes were handed over by Union Commerce & Industry Minister and North Mumbai MP, Piyush Goyal, who also issued a stern warning to builders and officials responsible for delaying redevelopment projects. I also demand action against government officials who collude with such builders.鈥� Goyal further emphasized that beneficiaries must have the right to choose their developer without any political or administrative interference. He stressed the need for complete transparency in the SRA process. Reaffirming the government's commitment to housing for all, Goyal highlighted the national target set under Prime Minister Narendra Modi鈥檚 leadership: 鈥淚n the next five years, 3 crore families will receive free pucca homes.
