List of 23 beneficiaries under PLI scheme for drones released

The Ministry of Civil Aviation has released the second provisional list of 23 beneficiaries under the Production-Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme for promoting the manufacture of drones and drone components in India. The list includes 12 drone manufacturers and 11 drone component manufacturers.

The companies that have been shortlisted for incentives under the drone manufacturers category are Aarav Unmanned Systems Asteria Aerospace and Throttle Aerospace Systems from Bengaluru; Dhaksha Unmanned Systems and Garuda Aerospace from Chennai; EndureAir Systems and Raphe Mphibr from Noida; Ideaforge Technology from Mumbai; IoTechWorld Avigation and Omnipresent Robot Technologies from Gurugram; and Sagar Defence Engineering from Pune.

The companies shortlisted for incentives under the drone component manufacturers category are: Absolute Composites, Bengaluru; Adani-Elbit Advanced Systems India, Hyderabad; Adroitec Information Systems, New Delhi; Alpha Design Technologies, Bengaluru; Dynamake Engineering, Hyderabad; Imaginarium Rapid, Mumbai; SASMOS HET Technologies, Bengaluru; Servocontrols Aerospace India, Belagavi; Valdel Advanced Technologies, Bengaluru; ZMotion Autonomous Systems, Bengaluru; and Zuppa Geo Navigation Technologies, Chennai.

The PLI rate is 20% of the value addition, which is one of the highest among PLI schemes. A unique feature of the drone PLI scheme is that manufacturers who fail to meet the value addition threshold in 2021-22 will be allowed to claim the lost incentive if they make up the shortfall in 2022-23.
