Itanagar's 10 slums to be developed

The Arunachal Pradesh State Level Sanctioning and Monitoring Committee (SLSMC) has approved a project to develop 10 identified slums in the capital complex under the RajivAwasYojna (RAY) being implemented across the country by the Union ministry of housing and urban poverty alleviation.

The State Chief Minister Nabam Tuki, who chaired the first SLSMC meeting in Itanagar on June 28, gave the approval in the presence of Urban Development Minister Rajesh Tacho, Parliamentary Secretary Padi Richo, Itanagar MLA Techi Kasso and Itanagar municipal chief councillor Higio Aruni, a source said on Saturday.

The meeting also approved the Rental Housing Project to be implemented in Itanagar and Naharlagun.
