Ather Rizta Crosses 100,000 Sales Within a Year

Ather Energy Limited, India’s leading electric two-wheeler manufacturer, has announced that its family-oriented electric scooter, the Rizta, has crossed the 100,000-unit sales milestone within just a year of its launch. Introduced in April 2024 and retailed from June 2024, the Rizta has significantly expanded Ather’s consumer base and boosted its market share across multiple Indian states.
Commenting on the achievement, Ravneet Phokela, Chief Business Officer at Ather Energy, stated:
“Crossing the one lakh mark with the Rizta is a landmark moment. Designed from the ground up to meet the needs of Indian families, it has allowed us to connect with a broader audience and accelerate growth in markets where our presence was previously limited.
The Rizta, Ather’s first family scooter, now accounts for around 60 per cent of the company’s total sales. Its practical design—featuring a 56-litre under-seat storage, a wide seat, and a spacious floorboard—combined with smart safety features, has made it the preferred choice for daily commuting.
Safety and connectivity remain key highlights. The SkidControl traction system prevents slippage on low-friction surfaces, while Tow & Theft Alerts and an Emergency Stop System add layers of protection. Features like Live Location Sharing and Google Maps integration enhance rider convenience and safety, especially in emergencies.
Since scaling up deliveries in Q2 FY25, Ather has seen a notable rise in market share in Gujarat, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, and Chhattisgarh. According to Vahan data, the Rizta, alongside the Ather 450 series, helped the brand secure the #1 position in South India in Q4 FY25.
With its strong blend of utility, comfort, technology, and safety, the Rizta has successfully positioned Ather as a leader in the evolving electric mobility segment, especially among family scooter buyers.
