State-owned engineering giant Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) has clinched a substantial contract from power behemoth NTPC, worth more than Rs 95 billion, to establish a 1,600 MW Singrauli thermal power project (Stage-II) in Uttar Pradesh.
In a regulatory filing on Tuesday, BHEL revealed the significant order it secured, affirming its role in bolstering India's power infrastructure. The project, dubbed the Singrauli Super Thermal Power Project, Stage-III, encompasses the installation of two units, each with a capacity of 800 MW, situated in Sonebhadra District, Uttar Pradesh.
The engineering firm outlined its timeline for the project, aiming to complete Unit 1 within 50 months and Unit 2 within 54 months. The scope of work encompasses the supply of essential equipment, erection, and commissioning, alongside civil works, reflecting the comprehensive nature of the undertaking.
