CM Stalin Inaugurates Precision Tech Centre in Kancheepuram

Chief Minister MK Stalin inaugurated the first-of-its-kind Precision Engineering and Technology Centre (PETC) at Thirumudivakkam, Kancheepuram. Developed under the Precision Mega Cluster initiative, the centre is designed to foster innovation, skill development, and adoption of advanced technologies for MSMEs (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises).

Built at an investment of Rs 18.18 crore, the PETC is part of the Precision Manufacturing Mega Cluster Scheme. The Tamil Nadu government provided a subsidy of Rs 13.33 crore for its establishment on the SIDCO industrial estate campus.

The facility is equipped with cutting-edge amenities including an engineering design centre, re-engineering lab, patent registration centre, additive manufacturing centre, and a testing lab.

"This centre will be transformative for MSMEs, enabling them to innovate and compete globally," stated Chief Minister Stalin. He further emphasized that over three lakh MSMEs in the state would benefit from the facility. The PETC aims to assist MSMEs, startups, young engineers, and college students in utilizing advanced software for designing without relying on large firms.

The Mega Cluster project is a collaboration between 14 MSME associations in and around Chennai, supported by the government. Among those present at the inauguration were State MSME Minister T. M. Anbarasan, Sriperumbudur MP T. R. Baalu, Congress Legislature Party Leader K. Selvaperunthagai, and other senior officials.
