DPIIT Reviews Infrastructure Challenges in Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu

The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade’s (DPIIT) Project Monitoring Group has conducted a review of critical challenges affecting mega infrastructure projects in Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu, including Reliance Jio's 5G expansion initiative, according to an official statement on Tuesday.

Key Infrastructure Hurdles Under Review During the session, officials examined 25 issues across 15 major projects, including five under the Ministry of Labour and Employment. The total cost of these projects exceeds Rs 103.96 billion.

One of the key projects under review was Reliance Jio’s 5G/4G expansion, with discussions centred around resolving forest and wildlife clearance issues in collaboration with state authorities. This initiative is crucial for expanding 5G coverage in currently uncovered areas and strengthening existing 4G infrastructure, particularly in remote and challenging regions, including Siachen.

Commitment to Infrastructure Growth By addressing regulatory and environmental challenges, the DPIIT aims to accelerate the completion of critical infrastructure projects, ensuring seamless connectivity and economic growth in these states.
