Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi inaugurated 83 developmental projects across various sectors, totaling ?8.9 billion, in Balangir district. The projects span irrigation, healthcare, piped water supply, bridge construction, and road development, showcasing the government's focus on infrastructure improvement in the region.
Majhi inaugurated the projects during two public meetings held in Belapada and Patanagarh, where he also laid foundation stones for several other key initiatives aimed at boosting the district’s growth.
Some of the major projects include:
The improvement of the 1,330-meter airstrip runway at Tusura Airstrip at a cost of ?650 million.
The Upper Lanth Irrigation Project in Belpada Block, with a project cost exceeding ?3 billion.
The inauguration of the Patnagarh Sub-divisional Hospital and Dialysis Center, along with a new Dialysis Center at Titlagarh, aimed at enhancing healthcare services in the district.

Several prominent leaders, including Deputy Chief Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo, Health and Family Welfare Minister Mukesh Mahaling, MPs Sangita Singh Deo and Niranjan Bishi, MLA Laxman Bagh, and Balangir Collector Gaurav Shivaji Isalwar, were present during the inauguration of these crucial projects.
