PM Modi to inaugurate of Rs 200 bn projects in Bikaner

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Rajasthan on July 8, marking his seventh visit to the state in the past eight months. The purpose of his visit is to monitor the state assembly polls closely. During his visit, he will be inaugurating development projects worth Rs 200 billion in Bikaner and will also deliver a public address at Naurangdesar on Saturday.

The main focus of the visit is the Bikaner division, which includes Churu, Sriganganagar, Hanumangarh, and Bikaner. Union Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal's office has informed that Prime Minister Modi will be dedicating the Green Express Highway (GEH), a national project costing Rs 200 billion, which passes through Bikaner.

Former state BJP president Satish Poonia stated, "Modiji will dedicate the GEH starting from Amritsar in Punjab till Jamnagar in Gujarat. The six-lane highway spans a distance of 1316 km and connects four states: Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, and Gujarat." The project connects various industrial centers such as Amritsar, Bathinda, Sanaria, Bikaner, Sanchore, Samakhiali, and Jamnagar. In Rajasthan, the highway passes through Hanumangarh, Bikaner, Jodhpur, Barmer, and Jalore districts.

In addition, the Prime Minister will also dedicate road projects spanning 162.46 km, costing Rs 8602.6 million, and road projects covering a length of 212 km up to Khajuwala-Pugal-Bap, costing Rs 8.95 billion.

Another significant project to be inaugurated by Prime Minister Modi is the Green Energy Corridor, which is 1,300 km in length, passing through Banaskantha in Gujarat to Moga in Punjab. This project is being constructed by the Power Grid Corporation, a government undertaking, and is championed by Arjun Ram Meghwal. The aim is to develop the Bikaner division as a solar hub.

Sources reveal that people from the five districts benefiting from the GEH project will be invited to attend the public meeting. "The BJP intends to leverage PM Modi's visit to these districts. During the elections, the party leaders will highlight the project as an achievement of Modi's government in the region, emphasising its benefits for the people," stated a BJP source.
