Rajasthan on Heatwave 'Red' Alert

Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma announced that Rajasthan is under a heatwave 'red' alert, with the government mobilizing all resources to provide relief to the populace. Sharma emphasized the state's commitment to ensuring the availability of essential services during this extreme weather.

During his morning walk at Jaipur's Central Park, Sharma interacted with locals, assuring them of the government's continuous efforts. "Round-the-clock monitoring is being done to ensure the availability of electricity and water. People should not face any problem. Hence, the leaves of officers and personnel of the Electricity, Public Health Engineering, and Medical departments have been cancelled," he informed.

Sharma highlighted the state's proactive measures to prevent and treat seasonal diseases, as well as ensuring medicine and water for livestock. He urged the public to make water arrangements for animals and birds wherever possible and advised residents to leave home only for essential work while taking care of their eating habits.

The intense heat persisted across Rajasthan, with night temperatures ranging from 25.5 degrees Celsius in Sikar to 35 degrees Celsius in Barmer. Radheshyam Sharma, the director of the Met Office in Jaipur, predicted a further rise in maximum temperatures by 1-2 degrees in parts of Bikaner, Jaipur, Bharatpur, and Kota divisions over the next 48 hours. He warned that the heatwave and hot nights are likely to continue for the next three days, though a slight drop in maximum temperatures by 2-3 degrees is expected from May 29.

The Rajasthan government is focused on mitigating the impact of the heatwave and ensuring the well-being of its citizens and animals during this period.
