Sonia Sethi to hold additional charge of MMRDA commissioner

Sonia Sethi, who is a 1994-batch IAS officer, will be holding additional charge of Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA). She is one of the additional metropolitan commissioners at MMRDA.

IAS officer R A Rajeev retired as commissioner of MMRDA after starting the trial run of Metro 7 and Metro 2A on May 31.

Rajeev was re-employed by the state government in March as the metropolitan commissioner of MMRDA on a contractual basis for three months. He is heading the MMRDA since May 2018. The MMRDA is currently executing projects such as the Mumbai Metro corridors and Mumbai Trans Harbour Link Project.

Besides starting trial runs of Metro lines 7 in Dahisar East to Andheri East and 2A in Dahisar to DN Nagar on Monday, a bhumi puja of a vehicular underpass and elevated road to connect Terminal 1 and Terminal 2 of the international airport and e-inauguration of one arm of Durgadi flyover and Rajnoli flyover on Bhiwandi-Kalyan road were performed.
