Tirupati to Become Rayalaseema’s New Sports Hub

Tirupati, the famed pilgrimage city, is set to transform into a major sports hub aimed at boosting athletics and games in the Rayalaseema region, announced Mandipalli Ramprasad Reddy, Minister for Transport, Sports, and Youth Affairs.
Accompanied by SAAP Chairman Animini Ravi Naidu and District Collector Dr. S. Venkateswar, the Minister unveiled a statue of hockey legend Major Dhyanchand at the Srinivasa Sports Complex. He also inaugurated new sports facilities developed at a cost of Rs 720 million.
Highlighting the NDA government's initiatives, Reddy emphasized the increased sports reservations to 3%, higher incentives for Olympic and Asian Games participants, and full financial backing for athletes' training and transportation. He also noted the recent opening of a state-of-the-art indoor stadium at Sri Padmavathi Mahila University � a first-of-its-kind facility in South India.
Dr. Venkateswar said the Srinivasa Sports Complex has been extensively upgraded with Smart City and CSR funds. Today, nearly 800 users daily benefit from the new facilities, which include a gym, ball badminton, volleyball, synthetic tennis courts, water purification plant, shuttle badminton, skating, and swimming pools.
Additionally, an indoor rifle shooting range has been introduced with support from SAAP and the state government. SAAP Chairman Ravi Naidu credited Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu for driving the expansion with contributions from TTD, SAAP, and Smart City projects. He also announced that the Gollavanigunta Cricket Stadium will soon be inaugurated.
The event was attended by MLA Arani Srinivasulu, TTD Board Member Panabaka Lakshmi, SPMVV Vice-Chancellor Prof. Uma, and other dignitaries.
