HAVER & BOECKER extends packing equipment life with rebuilds and upgrades

HAVER & BOECKER, a global leader in packing, palletising, and bagging equipment, is helping customers extend the lifespan of their packing equipment and improve plant efficiency through rebuilds and upgrades. By leveraging its expertise as an original equipment manufacturer (OEM), the company offers advanced technological upgrades 鈥 such as Performance+ Kits 鈥 to modernise machinery without requiring a full replacement.

鈥淥ur engineers strive to continually advance packing technology. The high quality of our equipment means customers keep these machines for years, if not decades. While they might still be working, they don鈥檛 have the modernised features that are available today,鈥 said Uwe Golkowski, head of machine rebuilds.

The Performance+ Kits allow customers to replace outdated assemblies with modern versions, such as the ROTO-LOCK庐 Performance+ Kit, which reduces dust emissions, spillage, and product loss. These upgrades can be integrated into various packing machines, including the ROTO-PACKER庐, INTEGRA庐, ELEMENTRA庐, and ADAMS庐 Technology. HAVER & BOECKER offers over 121 different Performance+ Kits, including SEAL Technology, MEC 4.0, and drive technology.

For older equipment with obsolete parts, the company also offers Performance+ Rebuilds. These upgrades help meet current safety standards, reduce energy consumption, and improve operational output, thus extending the equipment鈥檚 life and boosting efficiency.

鈥淥ne of the oldest pieces of equipment we鈥檝e completed a rebuild on was 36 years old. The ROTO-PACKER庐 required updates to the packing silo, filling and dosing technology,鈥 said Michael Gries, team leader for conversion at HAVER & BOECKER. 鈥淥ur technicians diagnosed the issues and offered upgrades to the ROTO-LOCK庐 and ROTO-FEED庐, resulting in improved air quality, better layer stability, and enhanced line performance.鈥

HAVER & BOECKER鈥檚 rebuilds and upgrades form part of the company鈥檚 PROcheck life-cycle approach, which includes an on-site audit known as the Plant Optimisation Plan. This plan evaluates the packing line鈥檚 performance and recommends improvements. The final report is delivered digitally, and the HAVER & BOECKER team works closely with the customer to implement the necessary changes.
