Godrej Interio wins contract for Cochin Intl Airport's new Terminal 2

It was announced by Godrej & Boyce, the flagship company of the Godrej Group, that Godrej Interio, their furniture solutions brand in home and institutional segments, had won the contract for the interior and MEP work for the transit accommodation at Terminal 2 of Cochin International Airport. It was stated that the scope of this project, which covers an area of 55,000 sq ft, includes the completion of civil finishes, plumbing, electrical, HVAC, ELV, fire protection, and BMS works.

Being the busiest airport in Kerala, Kochi Airport manages 61.8% of the total air passenger movement in the region. Since 2015, Godrej Interio has been collaborating with the CIAL authorities to carry out significant renovation work to improve the infrastructure at Kochi International Airport.

This new project is the third joint venture between Godrej Interio and CIAL. Its duration is expected to be nine months, and the transit accommodation area is projected to be accessible to the public in 2024.V According to Swapneel Nagarkar, the senior vice president and business head of Godrej Interio, the infrastructure sector plays a crucial role in India's economy and is essential for achieving the goal of a $5 trillion economy by 2025. He stated, "With a strong commitment to the Make in India mission, Godrej Interio has been a significant contributor to the nation's development. The upcoming heritage international airport, which will be operational in 2024, will provide convenient transit accommodation and an exceptional commuter experience. Godrej Interio has consistently prioritised the highest standards of execution, encompassing safety, quality, and timely completion within an operational airport setting."

Nagarkar also mentioned that the company's turnkey projects business accounts for 22% of the organisation's B2B segment turnover. He added, "We anticipate a 20% compound annual growth rate until FY25."

Since 2015, Godrej Interio has successfully completed various projects for CIAL. These projects include cladding and finishing works for the new international terminal T3 at CIAL, civil works for modifying the existing International Terminal (T1) into the Domestic Terminal at CIAL, as well as mechanical and electrical works for the modification of the existing International Terminal (T1) into the Domestic Terminal at CIAL. Additionally, the company undertook additional facelift works for the airside of the Terminal Building T1.
