Panel set up to help develop Delhi airport

People with knowledge of the matter said that the government has formed a committee to make recommendations on how to turn Delhi International Airport, the biggest airport in India, into an international hub along the lines of Dubai and Doha airports. An airport that is used by one or more airlines to concentrate aircraft operations and passenger traffic serves as a transit hub for travellers before they arrive at their destination.

According to the persons listed above, the group would analyse important international airports and recommend initiatives needed to turn Delhi into a worldwide transit hub. It will submit its findings to civil aviation minister Jyotiraditya Scindia.

In addition to many other things, it will recommend actions like tightening domestic to international and international to international transfer, building terminals for the two major airlines of the nation, Air India, and IndiGo, and setting up a schedule of slots for them so that flights arrive and depart at the best times to maximise connections.
