Development Plan and Economic Impact
According to the master plan, the first phase will develop 230 acres, with 75 acres dedicated to commercial development and the remaining area allocated for film industry infrastructure. The project is estimated to cost Rs 15 billion and is expected to be completed within eight years.
YEIDA had initially planned to allocate 1,000 acres, but after consultations with stakeholders, the land size for Phase 1 was revised. 鈥淚nitially, the size of the plot to be handed over was 1,000 acres. After consultation with stakeholders, we decided to provide 230 acres of land for development under Phase 1 of the project,鈥 Singh said.
Uttar Pradesh Industrial Development Minister Nand Gopal Gupta 鈥楴andi鈥 highlighted the Film City鈥檚 potential to boost employment and economic growth. 鈥淭he Film City is set to be a significant driver of Uttar Pradesh鈥檚 industrial growth. We anticipate it will create 5-7 lakh jobs, both directly and indirectly. The Film City鈥檚 success could pave the way for similar initiatives across various sectors in the state, as the Uttar Pradesh government remains committed to fostering industrial development and achieving our goal of a 1 trillion dollar economy at the earliest,鈥 he stated.
With its strategic location along the Yamuna Expressway and proximity to the airport, the Film City is poised to become a major hub for the entertainment industry, attracting investments and boosting Uttar Pradesh鈥檚 economy.
