Nitin Gadkari launches 25 NH projects worth Rs 11,721 cr in Doda

On November 24, Nitin Gadkari, Minister for Road Transport and National Highways laid the foundation stone of 25 major National Highway projects from Doda district, which will include a cost of Rs 11,721 crore and have a total length of 257 kilometres.
Majorly, out of the total 25 road projects, 18 come in the Udhampur-Kathua-Doda Parliamentary constituency of Dr Jitendra Singh and seven in the Jammu-Poonch Lok Sabha seat represented by BJP MP Jugal Kishore Sharma.
Along with Gadkari, Minister of State in the Prime Minister鈥檚 Office (PMO) Dr Jitendra Singh, Minister of State for Road Transport & Highways and Civil Aviation Gen VK Singh (Retd), Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Jugal Kishore Sharma, MP, were present at the launch.
Gadkar laid the foundation stone of the road projects, which will additionally enhance road connectivity in hilly and far-flung regions of the Jammu division.
The road projects will be done at a total cost of Rs 11,721 crore and include 257 kilometres of road length in the Jammu division.
A few days back, Gadkari had declared approximately Rs 3900 crore worth of projects in Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh covering a part of the Akhnoor-Poonch National Highway, Delhi-Katra Expressway, and a major highway in Ladakh.
The Ministry of Road Transport and National Highways is additionally in the process of sanctioning four more National Highways in the Jammu region, three of which come in the Lok Sabha constituency of Dr Jitendra Singh and one in the segment of Jugal Kishore Sharma.
The road projects whose foundation were laid by Nitin Gadkari cover the Khellani tunnel and its approach road on NH.244 to be built for Rs 749.61 crore and has a length of 3.9 kilometres, Goha-Khellani section and a link road to Goha village which will be built for Rs 228.39 crore and has a total length of 9.46 kilometres, another road on the Goha-Khellani section on NH-244 which will be developed for Rs 210.79 crore and has a total length of 8.73 kilometres and bi-directional tunnel and a significant bridge to be built on EPC mode with Rs 91.29 crore and a total length of 1.2 km.
