30 new routes to smooth public transport in Jaipur

The commuters in Jaipur will be able to easily get public transport vehicles to go from one area to another. Following the instructions of Chief Secretary Usha Sharma, Jaipur RTO Rajesh Verma has identified 30 new routes in Jaipur, which will be implemented next month after approval will be given in the meeting of the traffic control board in JDA next month.

At present, only 300 low floor buses, the same number of mini buses and metro are available in the city with a population of more than 60 lakhs, which is proving to be insufficient. Due to lack of public transport facilities, people are using private vehicles causing pollution and traffic jams.

In the routes, attention has been paid to the newly developed areas in Jaipur city where there is no public transport facility, said an official of the transport department.
