55 km of the Western Ring Road may be built by NHAI

The National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) met with the local government to discuss its proposal to build a 55 km long and 100 foot wide Western Ring Road for IDA and MPIDC, respectively, in order to make land available to finish a 42 km and 13 km stretch of the ambitious project, which will cost about Rs 1400 crore.

The proposed 55 km route connecting NATRAX on AB Road in Pithampur to Arjun Badod hamlet near Manglia was presented during the meeting by NHAI representatives. 46 villages, including three in the Dhar district and 43 in the Indore district, would be traversed. Not only will the project help commuters, but it will also enable MPIDC and IDA to build projects around it and generate income.

The land will be made accessible by IDA and MPIDC, and NHAI will build the road.

According to MPIDC MD Rohan Saxena, they have over 31,000 acre of land. 325 acre of it would be made available for the development of a 13 kilometre long road that will run through Pithampur and Indore.
