IVRCL needs Rs.260 cr to complete NH-47

The widening works of National Highway (NH)-47 from Chengapalli to Neelambur and from Madukkarai to Walayar in Tamil Nadu are moving at a snail pace. IVRCL Infrastructure Project is the concessionaire for this project. It is learnt from reports that the company requires about Rs 260 crore to complete the project, which was started way back in 2010 and the completion was targeted in 2012. The project comprises widening of 55 km highway in two phases. The road from Chengapalli to Neelambur was planned to be a six lane while the Madukkarai to Walayar road stretch was planned to be a four lane road. As of now, around 25 per cent of the work is yet to be completed. Toll collection can start once the first phase is over.
