Peddar Road flyover to be built upto Girgaum Chowpatty

In Mumbai, the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) will go ahead with its original plan to build the flyover from Haji Ali-Girgaum Chowpatty. Now it will discard Mumbai Transformation Support Unit鈥檚 (MTSU) plan for a shorter version of Peddar Road flyover covering only Cadbury Junction, said MSRDC. Once the tender is awarded, the flyover construction will be done in 18-24 months. According to MSRDC, there was once a plan to erect a shorter flyover covering only Haji Ali and Cadbury junction. But now MSRDC will go ahead with its original plan. As per the original plan, the length of the flyover was at 4.2 km. It was to start near Haji Ali junction and end at Chowpatty (near Wilson College) to ease traffic between South Mumbai and suburbs.
