Andhra Pradesh CM reviews statewide road repair work

YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, Chief Minister, Andhra Pradesh has reviewed the road repair work that is underway across the state this week and has directed the officials to speed up the work. Additionally, has asked them to set up a photo gallery showing the before and after pictures.

As per reports, the road repairs are being taken up in a planned manner, with the officials being told to focus on finding a permanent solution to the bridges and culverts that were damaged during the Nivar cyclone in 2020. 

The officials reportedly have supplied a detailed explanation of where the money for the project is going. Works under NDB phase-1 are slated to start by May-end, where 1,244 km of roads will be developed at an expenditure of Rs 30.14 billion and under NDB phase-2, 1,268 km of roads at a cost of Rs 33.86 billion will be startiin December 2022. Further, a total of 99 works are underway for national highways, where a 3,079.94 km stretch is being expanded by 10 m at a cost of Rs 300 billion.
