The Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) is set to deploy 1,050 electric buses across 11 major cities, marking a major push toward sustainable urban mobility. The rollout is being implemented in partnership with Convergence Energy Services Limited (CESL) under the Centre鈥檚 FAME-II scheme.This initiative aims to drastically cut down vehicular emissions and transition to green energy-based transport systems. The buses will operate on both intra-city and inter-city routes, with cities like Vijayawada, Visakhapatnam, Tirupati, and Guntur among the key beneficiaries.APSRTC is working on finalising charging infrastructure, route planning, and maintenance facilities to support this transition.
