Ashok Leyland reveals eight-wheel truck AVTR 2620

On Thursday Ashok Leyland, a Hinduja Group flagship company said it has launched its first ever eight-wheel truck, named AVTR 2620. This makes the company a sole player to have a complete range of trucks based on the lift axle technology.

The company claimed in a statement that the new product will offer excellent operational flexibility to its customers to pick the option based on their load, and total operations cost benefits.

It added that with the launch of AVTR 2620, Ashok Leyland rises to be the first and only player in India having a full range of trucks based on the lift axle technology, from GVW - Gross Vehicle Weight of 25.5 to 47.5 tonne.

The new truck can be operated as a 25.5 tonne truck having lift axle down. It can also be a 18.5 tonne GVW truck with lift axle up, which offers lower fuel and operating costs, in case of lighter load.

Head-Medium and Heavy Commercial Vehicle, Sanjeev Kumar said that the company has a history of introducing products that disrupted the commercial vehicle industry. This truck having unique lift axle configuration provides higher total cost of operation (TCO) advantage to their customers in ec-om, parcel and tanker.

He added that AVTR 2620 is a testament of the company's technological prudence and its commitment to provide better logistical solutions to their customers.

The truck offers flexibility of multiple cabins and features various options. The loading span is between 24 ft to 32 ft among others.
