Atishi greenlights road infrastructure project

Atishi, the PWD Minister, approved a mission-mode project to strengthen Delhi?s road infrastructure. The project's goal is to improve aesthetics and safety on the Capital?s roads in line with global standards.

The mission will specifically focus on three crucial roads in the East Zone area of Kondli and Trilokpuri. The road maintenance and beautification project will also give attention to older roads that have been negatively impacted by the installation of pipes and cables.

The Minister instructed PWD officials to complete the project within the specified timeframe and adhere to stringent safety guidelines to minimise inconvenience to travellers. She stated that "the effort aligns with the government?s commitment to providing durable and visually appealing roads."

According to Atishi, the initiative aims to ensure that the roads can endure heavy traffic and diverse weather conditions using modern techniques for maintenance and strengthening of the road infrastructure.

She mentioned that the government is actively working to reduce noise pollution and traffic congestion, and authorities will be directed to prioritise regular maintenance work. Atishi emphasised that the project approval stemmed from a comprehensive inspection of the current condition and requirements of the selected roads.
