Bihar minister asks NHAI to extend Purvanchal Expressway to Bhagalpur

Alka Upadhyaya, Chairman of the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), gave the Bihar government the assurance that the bidding process would start this year for a number of significant NH projects, including Patna-Ara-Sasaram, Areraj- Bettiah, Mokama-Munger, and Buxar-Haidariya.

Upadhyaya visited Patna to assess the ongoing NHAI projects in Bihar. She met state minister for road building Nitin Nabin after her meeting with NHAI representatives to talk about the ongoing NH developments.

The Purvanchal Expressway should be extended to Bhagalpur, as suggested by Nabin, and the NHAI chairman promised to take appropriate measures. During the conference, it was also decided to submit the Raxaul-Patna-Haldia Expressway alignment to the Bihar government for prompt clearance.
