Construction on 4-lane Ghaziabad-Kanpur expressway to begin soon

The National Highway Authority of India has announced that construction on the four-lane Ghaziabad-Kanpur expressway will soon get underway. The new expressway, which is 380 kilometers long and passes through 9 UP districts, will decrease the distance between Kanpur and Ghaziabad's travel time in half, to 3 hours.

The Ghaziabad-Kanpur highway, which is expected to cost approximately 5,000 crore, will be built in a way that minimizes any negative environmental effects. Additionally, the construction work will be carried out in stages in an effort to minimize significant delays to traffic flow.

The proposed four-lane expressway between Ghaziabad and Kanpur will reportedly be outfitted with all the most modern security and convenience features, including CCTV cameras, emergency call boxes, and variable message signs, according to the NHAI.

The proposed expressway, which would link the two industrial hubs of Ghaziabad and Kanpur, is also an effort to increase economic activity inside the state.
