Dwarka Expressway Gurgaon segment set for March opening

Officials from the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) announced that the Gurgaon segment of the Dwarka Expressway is anticipated to be inaugurated in the first week of March. Sources revealed that the final touches are being applied, and the opening of the Gurgaon section is imminent.
It is suggested that Prime Minister Narendra Modi may be the one to inaugurate the expressway, and officials mentioned that preparations for the inauguration are currently underway. Additionally, Modi is expected to launch the Gurgaon Metro project during his visit.
The Dwarka Expressway, spanning 29 km with 18.9 km in Haryana and the remaining 10.1 km in Delhi, starts from Shiv-Murti on National Highway 8 and concludes near the Kherki Daula toll plaza.
Gurgaon Deputy Commissioner Nishant Kumar Yadav expressed that the inauguration might occur by the end of February or the beginning of March. Despite not receiving a written response from NHAI, he mentioned being informed about the progress of the project. The remaining minor tasks, such as installing street lights, tiles, and thermoplastic road markings, are expected to be completed within 15 days. The tentative date for the inauguration is either at the end of February or in the first two weeks of March, according to Yadav.
DC Yadav further informed that Gurgaon MP Rao Inderjit Singh had a meeting with Union Road and Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari, who instructed NHAI officials to expedite the work on the Haryana stretch and make it operational. Completion of the Delhi portion of the expressway is anticipated to take several months.
The overall project, with an estimated cost of around Rs 100 billion, is designed to connect Dwarka Sector 21 to NH-8, passing through various Gurgaon sectors and the proposed Global City before concluding at NH-8 just before the Kherki Daula toll plaza.
