The Patna district administration has accelerated attempts to acquire the 64 acres of land required for constructing the long-delayed Danapur-Bihta elevated road as a result of the National Highways Authority of India's (NHAI) recall. In order to begin construction on the 25-km road, which will be built in both elevated and at-grade modes, Ashoka Buildcom has sought encroachment-free property. Ranjan Kumar Chaudhary, the district land acquisition officer for Patna, stated that after the proper compensation has been paid, work would begin to demolish 332 temporary and permanent structures that have been located on 64 acres of land. Chaudhary stated that village-wise camps would be organised for the distribution of compensation for land to be acquired for the Danapur-Bihta elevated road project and other nine major infrastructure projects currently underway in the district, citing the decision of the district magistrate-led project monitoring committee (PMC) on Tuesday. The state government has already made $4.56 billion available for the project's compensation in lieu of land purchase. Five kilometres of the 30,000 million Danapur-Bihta road's total length will be completed at grade level, with the other km being built on elevated structures. Prior to the 2015 Bihar assembly elections, the road project was approved by the union ministry of road transport and highways (MoRTH), along with the Koilwar-Buxar stretch, as part of the PM package to Bihar. The project's updated budget was approved in 2020. The four-lane Koilwar-Buxar route is now available for traffic, however construction on the Danapur-Bihta road has not yet started.
