Gadkari: Jaiswal Bridge on NH-44 in J&K Completed

The Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, announced in Jammu and Kashmir that the construction of a 2-lane Jaiswal Bridge over River Chenab on the Udhampur-Ramban section of NH-44 had been completed. In a series of tweets, the Minister stated that the meticulously designed Balanced Cantilever bridge, spanning 118 metres, had been built at a cost of Rs 200 million.

Gadkari mentioned that the establishment of this bridge served a dual purpose. Firstly, it would alleviate congestion along the Chanderkot to Ramban section, ensuring smoother vehicular movement. Secondly, it would facilitate the seamless passage of vehicles and pilgrim traffic during the 'Shri Amarnath Yatra' on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway 44, which was scheduled to commence shortly.

Gadkari expressed that, under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, they remained steadfast in their commitment to providing Jammu and Kashmir with exceptional highway infrastructure. He further stated that this transformative development not only contributed to the region's economic growth but also enhanced its allure as a prime tourist destination.
