Gadkari initiates Rs 100 bn, 10 NH projects in UP's Jaunpur

Union Minister for Road Transport & Highways, Nitin Gadkari, laid the foundation stone for 10 national highway projects in Jaunpur, Uttar Pradesh. The projects, estimated to cost Rs 100 billion, were inaugurated with the aim of enhancing the region's infrastructure.

During the ceremony, Gadkari conveyed that the construction of two bypasses in Jaunpur city and the ring road would be completed. He emphasized that these developments were crucial to relieving Jaunpur from traffic congestion and fostering industrial growth.

Gadkari highlighted the substantial progress made by the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways under the PM Gatishakti National Master Plan. This plan is dedicated to enhancing multi-modal connectivity and last-mile connectivity throughout the country. He specifically mentioned the Prayagraj-Dohrighat Corridor Project, situated in Prayagraj, Jaunpur, and Azamgarh districts of Uttar Pradesh. The corridor, consisting of four lanes, is divided into four packages.

Gadkari explained that this ambitious project would connect the Purvanchal Expressway, 11 national highways, two state highways, five railway stations, and two airports. Upon completion, the corridor would alleviate traffic issues in five crucial commercial cities: Phulpur, Mungarabadpur, Machhilishahr, Jaunpur, and Azamgarh. Additionally, the project aimed to establish seamless connectivity, leading to significant economic benefits and increased employment opportunities for consumers, farmers, youth, and business people.

The event was attended by State Minister Girish Chandra Yadav, Minister Dayashankar Singh, Members of Parliament Seema Dwivedi and Pushpraj Singh, as well as various MLAs and officials.
