The Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) is expected to commence the construction of a new road connecting Sector 70A to the Southern Peripheral Road (SPR) bypass from next month. GMDA officials told the media that at present, the sector doesn't have any proper road, therefore, due to the demand of residents and developers, GMDA is constructing a new 2.3 kilometre road, connecting the area to Palra Road and towards the SPR bypass. Shaveta Sharma, executive engineer, GMDA, told the media that Haryana Shehri Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP) took this issue to transfer the acquired land. The estimate was approved accordingly for around 800 sq m of land, which has been transferred from the HSVP for this purpose. Sharma informed that the remaining 1.5 km land acquisition procedure is ongoing. Apart from providing connectivity to residents of Sectors 69, 70, 70A and, 75, the 2.3 km stretch would enable residents living near Tulip Chowk and Rao Kaher Singh Chowk to avoid the congested SPR and Kherki Daula toll and head straight towards Manesar. As per the GMDA officials, the project cost is estimated to be approximately Rs 5.94 crore, including constructing drains and adding basic road safety equipment. Bids have been requested for this project and will open on March 21. The 2.3 kilometre road begins from where traffic coming from SPR and those heading from Rao Kaher Singh Chowk converge on one side and stretches till Palra Road on the other end.
